Funds from CEDARS Home for Children Foundation not only provide major support for capital projects, but annual funding also offers stability and flexibility to continue CEDARS long history of mission-based work to help children achieve safety, stability, and enduring family relationships. Because of this support, CEDARS can continue to do what we have done for more than 75 years and counting – be here for kids and families despite pandemics, fluctuations in the economy, or changes in government services.
Job Summary
The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with donors, ensuring their continued support and engagement with the CEDARS Home for Children Foundation. This role will work closely with mid-level donors to understand their philanthropic goals and develop tailored engagement plans that align with their interests and values.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and Steward Donors: Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors through personalized engagement activities, including face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and email communication, ensuring each donor feels valued and connected to our mission.
- Collaborate with Donors: Work closely with donors to understand their philanthropic interests and objectives, creating meaningful and impactful giving experiences.
- Support Fundraising Goals: Contribute to both short-term and long-term fundraising goals, bridging the gap between annual giving and major gifts to ensure a sustainable funding stream.
- Educate Donors: Inform donors about various giving vehicles and opportunities, empowering them to make informed decisions about their philanthropy and maximize their impact.
- Identify New Prospects: Identify and cultivate new donor prospects, expanding our network of supporters and enhancing our fundraising potential.
- Provide Detailed Reports: Prepare comprehensive reports on donor activities, contributions, and the impact of their donations, demonstrating transparency and accountability to our supporters.
Job Skills / Requirements
- Motivated by the mission of CEDARS Home for Children Foundation and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families.
- Previous experience with fundraising, donor engagement and cultivation and/or sales
- Team player who enjoys working collaboratively and strategizing with team members to achieve common goals.
- High level of personal accountability for achieving or exceeding goals and team objectives
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency in CRM systems like Neon.
- Ability to function autonomously while prioritizing fundraising expectations and a variety of tasks simultaneously with varying deadlines and limited supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, public relations or related field
